Mobile Marketing – Why It Matters

How To – Mobile Marketing Success

  1. Know your Audience

For any marketing strategy, the very first step would be to identify who your target market is, how old they are, what are their lifestyle & hobbies, what motivates them, how they think and perceive life, their mobile habits, how much time they spend their phones, etc. It would be easier to determine a channel for your marketing messages when you know more about your intended audiences.
  2. Set Goals

To achieve any form of success, you have to define what success means to you in the first place. Set objectives for your marketing plans. Ask yourself what you are currently doing for your business on mobile first, how will you want to engage your audiences – how much, is enough?
  3. Determine KPIs

Once you have your goals and objectives for your mobile campaign defined, it is also important to identify where you can tap on to determine whether your marketing efforts are considered effective – Look at engagement rates, views, acquisition, customer service.
  4. Measure Performance

All marketing efforts require monitoring and management. Determine which KPI would be most optimal for your mobile campaign, look at Google Analytics to understand where your consumers are coming from, which areas are getting more clicks and views, etc.
  5. Review your Efforts.

Now is the time for you to ask yourself important questions that will set your business going. Do you think your website is attractive enough to drive traffic? Do you need to improve on making it more user-friendly? Does having a mobile application bring additional value to your business and your clients? What kind of contents should you include in mass emails to get people clicking your way?

Well, there you have it, I could go on for days about the VAST potential mobile marketing can bring for us, and how much more our lives will change in the very near future. For more in-depth information, check this out!

To be honest, i never thought of it as a marketing technique as it didn’t really cross my mind at all. But now, if i was a marketer i would find this strategy very good and useful as it really helps me achieve great reach to consumers and the public! But yes, of course i would have to use your 5 steps accordingly as well! Personally, I think cookies do play a part as well! What do you think?

  3. Great write-up on the mobile marketing debate! I think it is a good marketing channel for brands to gain brand recognition because 80% of internet users own a smartphone. I personally chanced through their mobile ad on a watch brand and have since become a regular customer for them! It is also a cheaper option than advertising via billboards, tv commercials, etc.

Hence, I feel that today’s brands should consider mobile marketing as one of the brand recognition options!!

    1. Thank you for your inputs, Joshua!

There are boundless opportunities with mobile marketing! Like what you mentioned, its ability to reach out to as many possible people with as little cost (compared to traditional marketing) is a great feat that attracts many businesses to flock in! Businesses can now find cheaper alternatives to reach out to their target audiences! But we do have to be careful on certain issues such as privacy, where most of the time we have to sign up and fill in our credentials in order to purchase something or subscribe!
